As a Birthday ritual each year, my husband and I go shopping for the day and he chooses things for his Birthday that he would like me to buy him, within a set budget obviously. He loves shopping for things for himself and I am happy to indulge him despite the fact that I always see some things that I would love to buy along the way, I remind myself that this is a day dedicated to him and that it isn’t a day to be spending money on myself. Until we happened to wander into a sports shop and found an amazing pair of trainers in his and hers styles called Reebok ZigTech.
Reebok ZigTech were the most amazing trainers either of us had ever seen. The soles of the shoes are geometric and kind of zig-zag in shape, they are specially designed with a super lightweight foam which has been created to benefit the shins (to cushion them) and to prevent muscle fatigue and to give that last energy boost that leaves your legs feeling fresh and leaves you feeling like you really wouldn’t mind doing your fitness regime all over again.
Both my husband and I like to get out and do our weekly runs, though I admit I do my run with a friend and we go at a fairly steady pace and have a good old chin wag along the way, I always feel exhausted before we get to the end and find myself thinking that I wish we didn’t have to run up that last hill and imagining that lovely cold glass of wine that I’ve been promising myself all day. My husband loves his running too and is that bit more dedicated than me it has to be said, but one bad day at work and his resolve is broken and he can be easily persuaded not to go for is run. Not so since we got our Reebok ZigTech trainers!
Reebok ZigTech do footwear (and also apparel) for men and women and on that particular shopping day when we were out shopping for my husbands Birthday neither of us could resist those zig-zag soles (I got the women’s ZigTech Premier and my husband had the ZigTech Sonic) and they really are as amazing as they look, they’re outlandish in one way but they’re completely addictive in another. Maybe it’s because they are unusual in the way they look with the exaggerated soles but then again, the secret is in the soles so why not make them the focal point of the footwear?
Whatever it was, we both had to have a pair, Birthday or no Birthday I also had to have some! I was sold on the whole energy boost idea because this was something my exercise regime lacked. My husband loved the benefits of the footwear, the technology behind it and also the many sporting heroes that endorsed this amazing new product such as Amir Khan, Ryan Giggs and even Lewis Hamilton, they command respect and they are the best in their field and its true that fame can sell footwear, especially when it comes to sports footwear. So we were both happy at the end of that particular annual shopping trip, even though I was the only one spending any money!
